Just like other provinces with a great number of tourists, Puerto Princesa has also its way of offering nightlife to its visitors. It’s fun to take a tricycle to the city proper and look for a nice spot to chill and enjoy a night in Palawan’s capital. We had dinner at Balinsasayaw Chicken Grill and Restaurant and joining the fun crowd at the adjacent Tiki Resto Bar was a fun idea.
Our group had a short conversation as to why the resto-bar got its name ‘Tiki’. Eli mentioned that there’s a similar bar somewhere and the visiting the restrooms will answer the question. Curious, I looked for answers when I went to the toilet. Restrooms labels are “Titi” (Filipino word for male organ) and “Kiki” (female organ). Uncovering the mystery, I went back to our table laughing and sharing my findings with the group.
It’s a common thing to give tips to tour guides and restaurant crews in most tourist destinations in the country. But Tiki Resto Bar management don’t encourage visitors to give tips to the serving crews by putting a reminder on the menus.
It was an unplanned visit to a bar and we were happy we found our way to Tiki Resto Bar. Definitely the best way to end our Puerto Princesa trip before going back to the busy streets of Metro Manila.
