Schmidt’s Gourmet Hotdogs

MAKATI | New Hotdog Sandwiches in Town

Are you tired of the regular hotdog sandwiches available at a convenience store near you? Then why not try the new hotdog sandwiches in Cucina Andare at the Glorietta Open Park. Schmidt’s Gourmet Hotdogs is inspired by the different food cultures around the world from the all-time classic Chili Dog of the US and to the unique flavors of New Zealand.

The flavors incorporated in the hotdogs are special yet surprisingly mouth-watering. What makes them unusual from other hot dog places is that they have these toppings which are their top priority. Their best sellers include: Coney Island Chilli Dog, having a homemade minced chili with cheese, sour cream, onions, and jalapenos and a dash of hot sauce if you want it to be spicy. The Julius, sandwich with a classic Caesar salad on top of a hotdog. And last is Wagamama with a Japanese curry and salad topped with Nori. Other choices include Seattle Dog, US Ripper, and Aucklander and a new set to be offered in the coming months.

With my few visits to Cucina Andare, I observed that people flock to Schmidt’s booth and food easily sold out. So one time I finally tried it and I can say that my money is worth it! Indeed a different and new taste of a hotdog sandwich.

Cucina Andare is the only way to taste the delicious sandwiches. But the owners are in the process of locating a place for the business to accommodate their loyal customers. Schmidt’s Gourmet Hotdogs was a result of an idea played on the minds of culinary friends Kim and Lawrence who studied and worked in New Zealand for almost 2 years. It was in September of 2012 when they decided to come back to the Philippines and open a small scale business with the vision of giving people something new and something that is still untapped in the marketplace.
