The holiday season is a great reason to splurge some from your savings for the year and spend it on a rewarding hotel staycation even just within the metro. But before pampering yourself, you need to choose the best place/hotel to stay. Some points to consider are location, activities nearby and availability of facilities of your choice. When you’re considering Pasay City, Microtel Mall of Asia should be included in your list.
Satisfying these conditions is Microtel Inns and Suites Mall of Asia located at the corner of Coral Way Avenue and Seaside Boulevard, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. The following reasons make Microtel Mall of Asia one of the hotels in southern Manila area perfect for a hotel staycation for the holiday season.
GREAT LOCATION
Not yet done with your Christmas shopping list? SM Mall of Asia is just a block away from the hotel. You can shop ‘til you drop without minding the holiday traffic since you can have a leisure walk going back to the hotel.
If you plan to reward yourself, family or friends with a scrumptious lunch or dinner, a lot of seafood and buffet restaurants are located at the seaside boulevard on the other side of the hotel. Alongside is the SM by the Bay Amusement Park where the MOA Eye, a Ferris wheel featuring 36 six-seater air-conditioned gondolas, is located.
Aside from shopping, different events are also happening during this season. SMX Convention Center, the venue of some international exhibits, large trade expos, industry convention and corporate/social functions is just across the street.
STYLISH AND RELAXING ROOMS
The hotel has four types of room accommodations: Queen Double Rooms (City View, Sunset View and Corner View) and Queen Suite. All rooms are equipped with the chiropractor-approved mattresses, LCD cabled television, and full-sized bathroom with hot and cold shower. To ensure their guests’ safety, electronic card entry and automated fire safety systems are being implemented. Additional room features include a mini-refrigerator, hair dryer, radio clock, IDD/NDD phones, safety deposit box and cabinet.
We requested and granted rooms on the 11th floor of the hotel giving us a perfect view of the city’s skyline. The hotel provided us adjacent rooms and we were delighted when we found out that there’s a connecting door for the rooms, another reason for us to enjoy our stay. Since we wanted to just settle inside the hotel, we spent most of the time in our rooms sharing some of our travel experiences.
I enjoyed capturing the view outside of the window practicing my basic skills in long exposure photography with the guidance of Elal, Chino, and Darwin. We went to sleep around 12 midnight. We had a hard time leaving our beds for breakfast since it magnetizes us back to sleep with the comfort and rejuvenating feeling it offers.
FACILITIES
Regardless of your purpose of visit, the hotel features facilities that will guarantee a satisfying and convenient stay. A swimming pool is available on the roof deck of the hotel having an al fresco dining area which we claimed to be “Santorini-inspired” because of the all-white theme. It is where you can catch a great view of the sunset in Manila Bay. The pool is open from 7AM to 9PM and can only be used by registered guests. Also, proper swimming wear is strictly observed.
If you’re too tired enough to go to the nearby food strip, an in-house restaurant with the presence of Millie’s is available on the ground floor. We had dinner at the restaurant which offers quality cuisine, service and ambiance. We tried some of their International Dishes: Beef Kebab, Baby Back Ribs, Roast Rosemary Chicken, and Crispy Pata. Buffet breakfast inclusive on the hotel room rates is also being served at Millie’s.
Are you in-charge of business gatherings and year-end activities? The hotel has function rooms and conference rooms that can serve as the venue of your events. Wi-Fi on the other hand is a bit slow on our rooms that we had a hard time updating our social media accounts which was good since we just wanted to relax and sleep throughout our stay.
The overall Microtel hotel experience was great with the reasons mentioned above plus the superb accommodation extended by the hotel’s staff. Microtel Mall of Asia is indeed one of the best places to stay and spend the holiday seasons with its perfect location, availability of leisure and fun activities nearby, relaxing rooms, and facilities.
