NUEVA ECIJA | Microtel Cabanatuan: Designed for a Better Hotel Stay

Checking-in at Microtel Cabanatuan was already my second time staying at Microtel by Wyndham next to their Baguio site last month. What I noticed during my stay is that the group of hotels maintains the same layout of room features from the beds, television, cabinet to the interior of the shower. You will also see the same set of room amenities available such as the chiropractor-bed, which never fails me to have a very relaxing and long sleep, cable TV, the window seat and radio clock.

But what I really love about Microtel is the way they welcome their visitors on the very warmest accommodation they can offer. I arrived at the Central Bus Terminal in Cabanatuan City and was informed to be picked up by the hotel’s shuttle. The hotel is a bit far from the city proper but its location is perfect for everyone who wants to experience total relaxation and serenity because it’s away from the buzzing streets and crowd of the city.

I arrived at the hotel and already welcomed by the staff headed by Ma’am Lita. After filling in the form at the front desk, they already handed down the electronic key card for my room located at the ground floor which I found out to be a double room again, a huge one for me.

Work desk, cabinet and cable TV.

The entrance hall of the hotel is so wide having 3 living room sets that can accommodate at least 20 people at the same time I think. It was adorned with some vases and artsy furniture. I also commend the lighting in the lobby which is so calming in the eye while watching a movie on the cable TV or reading the newspaper in the morning.

The room on the other hand, is spacious having two queen-sized beds which are chiropractor-approved mattresses, a cable TV with tons of channels on top of the cabinet, the overhead individually-controlled air conditioning unit, a multifunctional telephone system with IDD and NDD, radio clock and window seat. The toilet and shower offers comfort with the fresh and clean towels, hairdryer, a large mirror and a hot and cold shower.

I also noticed that some rooms have connecting doors if ever guests want to occupy adjacent rooms, the staff can open the door for you to easily bond with each other.

Since Cabanatuan City is located in Central Luzon, sweltering heat of the sun is sometimes felt in the area. But it is not a problem when you’re in Microtel Cabanatuan because you can cool down this heat by dipping in the cold water of their swimming pool.

The hotel has a total of 50 rooms comprising 6 Suite Rooms and 44 Double Rooms. Features of the Suite rooms aside from what have mentioned earlier, also include a coffee/tea making facilities, fridge, microwave oven, kitchen counter with sink, sofa sleeper and a bath tub.

A good feature also for the hotel is that they have disability accessible rooms which are wider and were designed specifically for disabled people to move easier around the hotel room.

Aside from the swimming pool, other facilities and services of the hotel comprise a function room, the Wireless Internet Access, Non-Smoking rooms, 24-hr vending area, parking space, and an unlimited mineral water and coffee at the lobby.

The complimentary breakfast is being served at Liquid Restaurant. Before having the meal, they served us a hot sour chicken soup that literally woke me up due to its strong tangy taste. We had French Egg Omelet, Beef Patty and garlic rice for breakfast complemented by a hot coffee and a glass of fruit juice.

Breakfast: French Egg Omelet, Beef Patty and Garlic Rice.

For late lunch/snack, I tried their famous Seafood Pesto, while Karl ordered a Tuna Pasta and a plate of clubhouse sandwich for Sir Joy. We also tried their signature coffee based beverages featuring the Double Black Forest.

Clockwise: Clubhouse Sandwich, Tuna Pasta, Double Black Forest and Seafood Pesto.

For guests who want to visit some attractions in Nueva Ecija, recommendations include the Minalungao Cave National Park in General Tinio, Nueva Ecija that offers breath-taking scenery of green pristine river and unique rock formations. You can also visit Camp Pangatian (Prisoner of War Memorial Shrine) served as military training camp during the American occupation. Another suggestion is the Fort Magsaysay, the largest military reservation camp in the Philippines and one of the key training areas of the Phil Army. And also, the Pantabangan Dam and Lake considered as the largest reservoir in Southeast Asia good for boat riding and fishing.

Indeed, Microtel Cabanatuan was designed for a better hotel stay. It has a perfect location for everyone who wants to experience quiet surroundings, offers a range of facilities and amenities for guests comfort, guaranteed lowest rates and especially the very warm accommodation being extended by the friendly staff.
