Having a flight to Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental creates a number of possible itineraries since it serves as the main hub for visiting Northern Mindanao. In fact, a week before the travel, I was still uncertain on how to utilize the flight. Will I go to Cagayan De Oro for the white water rafting, or Bukidnon for the Dahilayan Adventure Park, how about Camiguin?
But since I really love waterfalls, I considered finding one on these destinations. Little did I know that Iligan City, known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls, in Lanao Del Norte, is just an hour and a half away from Laguindingan Airport. And take note, they have around 30 waterfalls!
So I finally settled on visiting Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte for this trip. However, I wasn’t able to research on how to go to Iligan City from Laguindingan Airport. It’s not a problem though since it will be a great opportunity to interact with the locals. After arrival, I immediately approached the airport security and asked for ways of going to my target destination.
He directed me to the kiosks near the entrance. Some transportation operators service the people going out of Laguindingan Airport.
“Php 135,” a man told me as he hands me a ticket. After paying the amount, he instructed me what shuttle van to ride. As passengers arrived, I overheard that the Php135 ticket fare includes the Php50 fare going to the national highway and the other Php85 for the bus ride to Iligan City.
It was a comfortable 5-minute ride for Php 50. We stopped on the shuttle van’s terminal along the highway and waited for about 25 minutes before the bus to Iligan City arrived. Sleep deprived, I managed to sleep throughout the land travel. After about an hour and a half, I started to see big factories of some industrial companies laid on the coastline of Iligan City.
The drop off point of the bus is in Iligan City Integrated Bus and Jeepney Terminal located in Brgy. Tambo, Iligan City. You can make your way to the city center by riding jeepneys with signages City Proper. Welcome to Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte.
I am writing a fictional story about a couple traveling from Manilla International Airport to visit the Twin Falls of Lake Maria Cristina.
I have placed my romantic couple upon a twin engine charter flight at Manilla… Where should I have them land to best access Iligan City and the falls of Lake Maria Cristina? I need an airport large enough to handle this twin propeller charter plane…
Could someone please help me?
I appreciate any advice you could offer me. 🙂
