A midnight flight from Manila forced us to stay all night that resulted in a sleepy arrival in Tan Son Nhat Airport. Early morning arrival in Park Hyatt Saigon was not an issue because we were allowed to check-in, thanks to a non-fully booked day. Around 4 in the morning, when we decided to call it a night and rest in prep for a tiring weekend in Saigon.
At 3 AM, though only a few lights brighten the lobby of Park Hyatt Saigon, one can sense the opulence of the hotel interiors. We waited at the dimly-lit yet elegant Park Lounge while one of my friends approached the front-desk for our check-in procedures. In no time, we found our way to our Park King room on the 9th floor.

Park King Room Accommodation
A French-colonial vibe welcomed us the moment we stepped into our room. It wasn’t a rustic old mood but a charming and elegant ambiance. It was too tiring to notice tiny details of conveniences offered by our room that later were discovered during our stay.
Gentle colors with a touch of gold exude the room interiors. Massive king-sized bed for two people, but can actually fit three people, is the centerpiece of the room. The following morning, we were greeted by Saigon light and signaled us to get out of bed. Park King Room doesn’t have the floor-to-ceiling windows yet striking louvered windows that made us appreciate the tastefully decorated room.
The 34 square-meter room has everything you need. Entertainment amenities include a 48-inch LED television, Bluetooth speakers, and in-room mini iPad. In terms of connectivity, room features such as speakerphone, data ports, and high-speed Wi-Fi will make you finish your pending works. Of course don’t miss the in-room conveniences like the minibar, fridge, coffee and tea making facility, and a Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules replenished daily.
Old world charm transcended in the bathroom with a dresser-like sink with massive vanity mirror. The toilet is on a different enclosure separate from the shower area. Shower room has a bathtub and is equipped with handheld and overhead showers. Cochine shower essentials add a luxurious scent to every refreshing shower. The closet has its doors open on both sides making it more accessible either in the bathroom or bedroom. Sliding doors are heavily utilized in the bathroom.
Park Hyatt Saigon Dining Options
Park Hyatt Saigon has not only two but six dining options spread on different floors of the hotel. Park Lounge is in charge of quick snacks with their menu spread from savory meals, desserts, to high tea sets and buffet to fresh juices, cocktails, and some spirits. In the afternoon, hotel and walk-in guests convene at the lobby lounge while musicians serenade and amplify the mood.
Other dining options are Square One, Park Hyatt Saigon’s signature restaurant on the mezzanine floor; 2 Lam Son bar that serves international wines, cocktails, premium beers, and artisanal snacks; the open-air rooftop bar The Terrace for its broad range of beverage options and French and Vietnamese bar menu; and The Pastry Boutique, near the main entrance of Opera, that majors in perfecting artisanal pastries and seasonal sweets.
Breakfast Buffet at Opera
Opera, located on the lobby opposite Park Lounge, is the all-day dining restaurant of Park Hyatt Saigon. Buffet breakfast, as part of the room inclusions, is served at the Opera. The main dining surrounds the show kitchen reflecting the authentic trattoria-style where incredible selections of food are served.
Buffet spread is centralized within the main dining room, making it easy for guests to go around and pick and mix-and-match their food for breakfast. The comprehensive options include the breakfast selections from cereals, nuts, seeds, and compotes; English breakfast such as sausage, bacon, grilled tomatoes, and herbed potatoes.
Other sections of the buffet are bread and pastries, salad, cured meat and smoked salmon, and cheeses. Bread section offers a varied spread including a baguette, milk panini, fruit and nut bread, wheat bread, and bagel. Fresh fruits and juices, minimal desserts like matcha chia seeds and mango yogurt. Alongside the salad section is a fresh coconut juice serve directly from its shells.
In addition to the buffet spread, guests can also order ala carte meals from either International or Vietnamese selection. Of course, we didn’t miss to get bowls of chicken and beef pho, banh mi baguette, and classic eggs benny.

Park Hyatt Saigon Facilities
On Level 4, guests will discover the other facilities that Park Hyatt Saigon offers to its in-house guests. Before the pool area, is a lush surrounding covered with plants to add a more natural touch to the recreation facility. Sun lounges and cabanas are enough to accommodate the influx of guests. Free bottled water is also handed together with towels. On the same floor is the fitness center and spa, The Xuan Spa.
The idyllic location of Park Hyatt Saigon provides a convenient Saigon stay for both business and leisure travelers. Saigon attractions are just within the hotel neighborhood and it can really allow short-staying travelers to explore more of Saigon’s historical landmarks. To top it all, Park Hyatt Saigon really did impress me with their unique spaces, remarkable cuisine, and exceptional service.
