Feels Like Home at Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp., Davao City

Last time I went there was unplanned when the taxi driver recommended Lachi’s for late lunch. Prior to Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2015, I was hoping that the restaurant will be included in the itinerary as I was eager to try other meals I wasn’t able to order during my first visit. Gladly, Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp expressed their interest to host our dinner for second day.

Clockwise: Symphony Torte, Sour Cream Cheesecake, Regal Chocolate Torte, New York Cheesecake with Blueberry, Roasted Walnut Cake, Dolce de Leche Cheesecake, Five Chocolate Torte, Triple Chocolate Cheesecake, Cashew Mocha Torte, and Choco Vanilla Cheesecake.

With numerous dining experiences on fancy restaurants, sometimes you’re craving for the food that your mom and granny prepare for weekend lunch or dinner when you’re at home. Lachi’s has this ‘lutong-bahay’ concept that will really remind you of your childhood while savoring some of their tummy warmers.

Spicy Laing (Php72).

First warmer served was the Spicy Laing (Php72) that was superb; I’m not overreacting here, that it required me to consume the scoop of rice on my plate. I’m so picky when it comes to ‘laing’ because it’s one of my mom’s specialties. But sorry mom, Lachis’ Spicy Laing is better than yours.

Asian Spicy Chicken (Php142).
Stuffed Chicken with Pineapple Sauce (Php145).
Arroz a la Cubana (Php115).
Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs (Php165).

Laing Pasta with Lechon Kawali (Php145).
Pork Marinara (Php125)

Additional tummy warmers we found crowding on our table were Asian Spicy Chicken (Php142), Stuffed Chicken with Pineapple Sauce (Php145), Arroz a la Cubana (Php115), Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs (Php165), and Lengua, as well as the Laing Pasta with Lechon Kawali (Php145) and Pork Marinara (Php125). Food were really great that I lost in counting how many times I requested for an extra rice.

Aside from meals, Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp is also famous for their desserts: cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, torte, and sansrival, of course. A dessert buffet was set-up serving everything on the menu from the Lachi’s Classic Sansrival up to the ‘Cake of Happiness’ that includes the bestsellers cheesecakes and tortes, definitely a reward for people with sweet tooth. I need to admit that I had sugar rush after the dessert experience yet I was happy to sample those cakes.

Durian Sansrival.

From now on, Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp will be a staple restaurant for every Davao City visit simply for three main reasons: homey concept, great food and desserts, and very affordable prices.
